First Coast Integrative Psychiatry opened in the summer of 2019 to serve the needs of patients in and around St Johns County Florida and beyond. In addition to in office psychiatric care, we offer Tele-psychiatry visits for those that prefer the comfort of their home or office. Our office is conveniently located off of CR 210 in the north part of the county. We even offer evening and weekend appointments if needed for our patient’s convenience.
We have a vision of psychiatric care that can’t be achieved in the traditional insurance based clinic. Our model allows the psychiatrist and the patient an unobstructed path to optimal wellness and the highest level of functioning. Complex issues can’t be solved in the 15 minutes insurance companies allow for an office visit, and our clinic allows at least 30 minutes for all but the simplest follow up appointments. Our comprehensive wellness evaluations last 60-90 minutes and include not only a psychiatric exam but also an exploration of wellness and lifestyle issues. We believe the mind and body are connected and one cannot achieve mental wellness without treating the entire person.
We recognize that psychiatric care is a medical specialty and there are different levels of professionals offering psychiatric care. Our medical director is an M.D. with over 15 years of clinical experience in all types of psychiatric settings. In order to become a medical doctor, you must complete 4 year undergraduate degree, 4 years of Medical School and to become a psychiatrist, another 4 years of Psychiatric residency. This includes over 15,000 hours of supervised medical training. At FCIP, you will only be treated by a board certified psychiatrist who has the most skill and training to help you with your mental health issues.
